Appendix Resolution on Forming Textbook Subcommittee to the UEPC WHEREAS the costs of academic textbooks have continued to increase above the rate of inflation over the past several years; and WHEREAS students must pay these textbook costs in order to be properly prepared for course work; and WHEREAS the Undergraduate Education Policy Committee of the SIUC Faculty Senate has been charged with investigating the costs, pricing structures and alternative supplying of academic textbooks; and WHEREAS the Undergraduate Education Policy Committee has proposed a subcommittee composed of educators, students, and bookstore personnel to study the problem; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Faculty Senate approves the formation of a subcommittee whose term will end at the 2004-05 academic year to advise the UEPC on the textbook issues, chaired by Jim Allen, with members to be named by the chair.
