d.Bereavement
A leave of up to 3 days with pay will Upon request, an eligible employee shall be granted, for employees without loss of pay, bereavement leave of up to three work days. Such leave may be used to attend the funeral or memorial service for related travel and/or for bereavement time upon the death of a member of the immediate family or household. For these purposes, the immediate family is defined as spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, and corresponding in-laws. Household includes anyone maintaining a family relationship living in an employee's home. Approval will be granted for leave with pay of 1 day to attend the funeral of One work day shall be granted upon request, without loss of pay, due to the death of a relative outside the immediate family or household as defined above or to serve as a pallbearer at a funeral. For these purposes, a relative is defined as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and corresponding in-laws. To be eligible for bereavement leave for the death of a corresponding in-law, the employee must be legally married to the person that creates the in-law relationship at the time leave is requested. Substantiation of the reason for bereavement leave may be required.


e.Jury Duty
Employees called for jury duty or subpoenaed by any legislative, judicial, or administrative tribunal will be granted a leave with pay. Employees should notify their supervisor as soon as they received the juror summons notice. During the period the employee is actually serving on a jury or is require by a court or other tribunal to be present as a witness, (including reasonable travel time) the employee will continue to receive his/her normal compensation. At other times when the court or other tribunal is not in session, the employee is expected to be at work.

Employees on work shifts other than normal day shift must call their supervisor for report-to-work instructions unless earlier arrangements were approved. These instructions vary depending on the employee's work shift:

Early morning or normal workday schedule - Employees are expected to report for work whenever the court does not require their services. If the court excuses the employee with four hours or more remaining of the scheduled work shift, the employee must report for work.

Employees on afternoon work shifts - Employees starting a work shift at 2:00 p.m. or later will be granted jury duty leave for the shift occurring on the same calendar day. An employee who reports for jury duty and who is excused before noon must report to work. The employee will be excused for the amount of time equal to what they served on jury duty.

Employees on night shifts - Employees starting a work shift at 10:00 p.m. or later will be granted jury duty leave for the shift immediately preceding a day on which the employee is required to report for jury duty. At the conclusion of the required jury duty, employees are expected to report for work at the beginning of the first shift that commences eight (8) or more hours after being excused from jury duty.

Employees who are required to appear in court as defendants or plaintiffs in civil or criminal actions do not qualify for this type of leave.
