Resolution to Approve the Landscape Contracting Specialization in the B.S. in
Plant and Soil Science to be Offered by the Department of
Plant, Soil and General Agriculture, College of Agricultural Sciences

WHEREAS the Department of Plant, Soil and General Agriculture is already offering most of the courses necessary for a specialization in Landscape Contracting in the B.S. in Plant and Soil Science; and

WHEREAS the Department of Plant, Soil and General Agriculture has determined the likely enrollments and the employment demand for such a program, and is seeking funding from the Illinois Board of Higher Education to cover the additional expense to offer a full-fledged program; and

WHEREAS the Department of Plant, Soil and General Agriculture anticipates that once it has established the program, it will be relatively easy to seek its accreditation; and

WHEREAS the Department of Plant, Soil and General Agriculture has received the unanimous support of its faculty and the necessary concurrences from related programs on campus;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Faculty Senate approve the Reasonable and Moderate Extension for a Landscape Contracting specialization in the B.S. in Plant and Soil Science to be offered by the Department of Plant, Soil and General Agriculture, College of Agricultural Sciences.
