The role of the Faculty and Staff Ombudsman is to assist in resolving
problems in a fair, impartial, and informal manner among faculty, staff, administration, and, at times,
students. The Faculty and Staff Ombudsman serves as an information and communication resource, upward feedback
channel, advisor, dispute mediator, and in general a change agent for the University. Real or perceived problems
can often be resolved before any formal action is necessary.
The Faculty and Staff Ombudsman reports directly to the Chancellor
and functions as an office separate from that of the University Ombudsman. All communications through this office are confidential.
